When the NHL announced that the 2011 Winter Classic would be held in Pittsburgh between the Penguins and the Washington Capitals, this was the best opportunity for a little cross-promotion.
So, some of members of the Pittsburgh Penguins including Sidney Crosby and Max Talbot did some field goal practice by shooting pucks off ramps.

For most Pittsburgh Penguins fans, it must have felt like Deja Vu all over again when they found out that they would be facing the Detroit Red Wings in the Stanley Cup. This time however the story had a different ending, the Penguins win their first Stanley Cup since the season of 1991-1992 by the score of 2-1.
Much maligned Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fluery made 23 saves in the victory including one in the final couple second to steal a possible overtime period in game seven.
Pittsburgh center Evgeni Malkin took home the Conn Smythe Trophy for the post season MVP award. The goals that eventually gave Pittsburgh the victory came from center Maxine Talbot who scored both of them in the second period.
Penguins head coach Dan Blysma becomes the second rookie head coach to be hired midseason to win the Stanley Cup. (The first being Al McNeal of the Montreal Canadiens back in 1971) Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby also took home the honors of being the youngest captain to win the Stanley Cup.

Patrick Kane Score to tie the game with a awesome backhand after he took it up the ice beating at least 3 Red Wings to do so. Darren Helm (Which was my original pick before the game) deterring the Chicago Blackhawks for at least 25 seconds during a penalty kill in the third period.
It goes into overtime but Darren Helm slams in the Thomas Holmstrom shot home where it belong, in the net!!!! Let's go Red Wings!!! On to the finals again!!!
The Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins finally began their Eastern Conference Semi-Final playoff series today or what the general hockey-going public likes to call Sidney Crosby versus Alexander Ovechkin.
However in the second period, Capitals goaltender Simeon Varlamov robbed Sidney Crosby of a goal that would have given the Penguins a 3-2 lead.
This save might possibly be one of the best that I have ever seen in a live-action game. The Capitals would go onto win game one by the score of 3-2.
