Well the crowd was certainly ready, but the Red Wings came out a bit slow in the 1st, but turned things around and they took game 1 4-2... Here are the highlights...

The Penguins came out strong, but Ozzie was solid as hell and Fluery helped us out by putting in two of our three goals. Ala Game 6 he let one in right out of his you know where. Adam Burish opens up the game and scores an unassisted goal to make it 1-0.
Dan Cleary with a unassisted goal over Nikolai Khabibulin glove to tie it 1-1.Then Yohan Franzen also scores an unassisted goal with a wrap around through the legs of Nikolai Khabibulin.The first two periods are over with a score of 2-1. Kris Versteeg scores to tie the game about 3 minutes 10 seconds into the third period. 2-2.
A few minutes later Brett Lebda took a shot that hit Mikael Samuelson in the leg. Samuelson controls the puck fakes a shot and then rips one into the back of the net to take the lead 3-2. Zetterberg to Frazen,Cleary deflects the puck to score his second goal 4-2. Cleary almost scored a hat trick after he had a break away chance, which I think he had Khabibulin beat but missed the back of the net. Then later Cleary almost accepted a pass from Datsyuk for an open netter! Too bad... Zetterberg instead gets the open net with a pass by Frazen who was quick to get back onto his skates to get an assist.
This was just too funny! Watch as Fluery trips coming out on to the ice before the puck drop! First up The Benny Hill Version...

Couldn't help but post this in super slow motion! Can't wait for game 2 on Monday in Detroit! Red Wings went on to win 4-0 as Samuelson had 2 unassisted goals... It really should have been 5 to zero, but the one ref looked like he had a favorite team going into the game : ) Zetterburg added to his totals along with Cleary without his jaw mask! Perhaps he will break out of his slump with this new found confidence...

The Detroit Red Wings started out the series versus Dallas just like they left off the last one against Colorado, destroying the Dallas Stars 4 to 1! Here are a few highlights of the game...

Datsyuk with one of his signature now you see me now you don't moves... I believe that one of the Dallas players actually got injured on the play. Perhaps they will think twice about trying to lay out Datsyuk next time!
