The New York Times has obtained transcripts of the wiretaps in the case of Jose Padilla, accused of something by the government. I hope that the government has something better than the "blast" excerpt above. Could Padilla actually be innocent? As an American citizen he is innocent until proven guilty, of course, but then as an American citizen he has a right not to be tortured, and we know how that turned out.

They Won One For 'The Captain'

As a wonderful ending to a great night, the Wings won 2-1 against the Anaheim Ducks. While it wasn't the greatest game ever played--someone watching hockey for the first time would wonder what all the hype was about--they didn't disappoint Yzerman on his night.

Hopefully this win will be the boost the Wings need to help them on their road trip which starts on Thursday. With Datsyuk hurt--especially since he had been playing quite well lately--they need all the help they can get.

And yet, he praised his coaches, teammates, and the fans for all of his success. There won't be another like Stevie Y. God bless.
