While listening to David Suzuki the other day I discovered a profound link between economics and the health of the Western population. This epiphany now seems really obvious. It can be easily demonstrated by answering two questions, both of which have the same answer.
Q. 1 What is the cause of Western culture's most feared disease?
Q. 2 What is our economic mantra?
A. UNSUSTAINABLE GROWTH.
Cancer is caused by the uncontrollable replication of cells that eventually overcome the host organism. Our economic policy is reflected unconsciously and has resulted in a disease that we have not been able to cure. This doesn't discount the poisoning of the planet which in turn is killing us. These things are not mutually exclusive because it is our unsustainable hunger for growth that is killing the environment. Even more critical for me, it offers proof of an unconscious realm of existence.
We are not separate, from Nature, our planet, our thoughts, from each other. When we cure our insatiable greed, we will cure cancer.
