The Bee Gees singer was supposed to leave for Brazil that day, but doctors advised him not to travel while they identify the ailment. "We are not sure what's wrong with him at this stage and are worried," his spokesman told the BBC.
Not only did he cancel the shows, but Gibb also had to postpone a meeting with Brazilian President Dilm Rouseff. "Robin was looking forward to meeting and performing for his South American fans."

With the encouragement for his wife Dwina, he went to the hospital to find out he needed emergency surgery for a blocked intestine -- the same thing that his twin brother and bandmate Maurice died from in 2003.
"It was a shock. I'd been expecting to go home but instead I was told my intestine could burst at any time and I could be dead within half an hour," he said after the incident.
