I have a feeling that most of you do not know who Nick Adenheart is. Well, Adenheart was the starting pitcher last night for the Anaheim Angels in their loss to the Oakland Athletics.
Adenheart went six innings allowing no runs off of seven hits. However he ended the game with a no decision.
Then worse news came across this morning when TMZ.com reported that Adenheart was killed by a hit and run driver when a driver of a mini-van went through a red-light and caused the Mitsubishi that Adenheart were riding in to hit a lamp post.
The driver of the mini-van was eventually detained after he fled the scene and charged with felony hit and run. (Sports By Brooks has found out the suspect's name and big surprise he had a prior DUI convinction)
It really is sad to see someone's life cut short regardless of what they do for a living at the hands of a hit and run driver.
Drunk drivers and hit and run drivers should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law since it is a senseless act to commit from the beginning and this should be a story told to everyone who ever thought about running a red light or driving drunk.
Our condolences to the Angels organization and Adenheart's family.
Nick Adenheart was 22.
