'The Office' gets super-sized for Carell farewell

Apr 11, 2011

Get ready to say goodbye to Michael Scott.

NBC announced today that it will offer extended versions of Steve Carell's final episode of The Office as well as for Parks and Recreation on Thursday, April 28.

The Office will see Carell off in an episode that night from 9:00 -9:50 p.m. (ET) and will continue with Parks and Recreation from 9:50 -10:30 p.m. (ET). 30 Rock will follow from 10:30-11 p.m. (ET).

Before that, however, Will Ferrell is set to join the show on April 14 as Deangelo Vickers, an interim manager. Don't get too excited about Ferrell making the job permanent. He told the New York Times last week that he has no plans for or interest in a permanent return to television, and was committed this fall to filming a comedy in which he and Zach Galifianakis play rival politicians seeking a Southern Congressional seat.

And for the May 19 finale, look for guest stars Ricky Gervais and Will Arnett to drop by The Office.
