The swell has been very small lately so we have had a couple of sessions on the SUPs (Stand-up paddle-boards) The lack of swell also gave me the opportunity to finally try out my water-camera in calm conditions, without the complications of having to paddle out further to miss the sets. This is my first official image taken from/on/in the water. You can just see the break in the far distance and a surfer (maybe Robin) on the right.
I thought I had charged the battery up but it turns out that I had it in the wrong way. I am notoriously impatient with technical equipment. I am quite capable of using it when I want to, but just want it to work when I want it to. I only managed to take 2 images with a mostly depleted battery before I found myself in the white water struggling with a 10' board, paddle and a camera attached to the strap of my helmet.
Grrrrrrrr......
I gave up at that point, took the camera back to the car in disgust and got my surfboard because I was also (unfairly) disenchanted with the SUP.
But anyway, you get the idea. Robin actually got some great rides on the not-too-small swell after all. I am sorry I didn't get them on 'film'.....but I have since re-charged and am ready to go again.
