There is another small twist in the camera tale. Not to be out-done and just when I was about to get my proverbial s**t together, one Boy-Wonder-Buzz-Light-Year goes and buys himself......wait for it......an underwater camera. What is really annoying is that it is smaller and better than the one I bought 2 years ago and never used and it doesn't need the bulky clear case that mine does. Hmph.....but, there are advantages because he has bothered to read the manual and knows how to use it. And I can borrow it.
This was a small wave, I took some bigger ones, and despite what the photos say today's session was a bit busy out the back, but only when we were dodging the close-out sets. The swell was local which means it gets in more effectively and the banks were shallow. I really wanted to get an image of the rare (on the day) but impressive 6ft close-outs from the disadvantaged side (about to cop it on the head) For now I am happy to have a techie who I can rely on to provide me with the appropriate equipment, all charged up and ready to go, and even gets me some pics of myself.
