'The Amazing Spider-Man' star Andrew Garfield has split from his girlfriend of three years, Shannon Woodward.

The 'Social Network' actor has been dating 'Raising Hope' actress Shannon Woodward since 2008 but has decided to end their relationship as Andrew was too busy concentrating on new movie 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "They drifted apart as Andrew got deeper into filming 'The Amazing Spider-Man'; he literally never saw her.

Shannon is telling people they're on a break but they haven't spoken to each other in weeks.

Last year, it was revealed Andrew, 27, would take over from Tobey Maguire to portray the superhero and his alter ego Peter Parker in the forthcoming reboot of the franchise, but he insisted his life wouldn't change due to the high-profile role.

He said: "There's nothing interesting about my life.

"Like, I'm not stumbling out of clubs at four in the morning, you know? So there's absolutely no reason for that to happen."
