Lindsay Lohan began her 360 hours of community service.LOS ANGELES ? Lindsay Lohan was all smiles as she started her 360 hours of community service at a homeless women's shelter Friday.
The "Mean Girls" star arrived at the Downtown Women's Center looking ready for action with tall black boots, a black leather jacket and a notebook.
She didn't stay long though, clocking a little less than three hours, TMZ.com reported.
A judge ordered the charity work last month after finding that Lohan violated her DUI probation by leaving a jewelry store without paying for a diamond necklace around her neck.
"Perhaps then she might see how truly needy women who have fallen on truly hard times have to live," Judge Stephanie Sautner said as she handed down the punishment.
Lohan also must perform 120 hours at the county morgue. She's expected to do light janitorial work in the presence of dead bodies, a spokesman said.
Lohan, 24, is due back in court next week for a hearing in her misdemeanor jewelry theft case.
She is expected to plead no contest, according to TMZ.
Judge Sautner already slapped her with four months jail time for the probation violation and could give her more if she accepts a plea deal or is found guilty at trial.
Due to jail overcrowding, she likely would spend just a fraction of the time behind bars and could even skip jail altogether if the judge approves house arrest with an ankle monitoring device.
Lohan has repeatedly said she wants to move on with her career and her sobriety. She's been cast in the upcoming Gotti family biopic, which starts shooting in New York in January.
