Real Madrid director general Jorge Valdano believes that Jose Mourinho has proven to be the ideal choice to take up the coaching reigns and get the best out of their star-studded squad.
The Portuguese tactician was appointed to replace Manuel Pellegrini in the summer and after a solid yet unspectacular start 'The Special One' has begun to sparkle in the Madrid hotseat, after a number of recently convincing performances.
"Mourinho has a contract for four years and says he wants to stay. I see no reason to disbelieve him," said Valdano in an interview with Sky Sport 24.
"He is the ideal coach for Real Madrid and possesses the same hunger to win."
The Whites are about to commence a colossal Champions League semi-final tie with Barcelona on Wednesday night, and are eight points behind their Catalan compatriots in La Liga with five games to go. However, Valdano remains defiant in his club's chase for a treble this season.
"Against Barcelona, rest assured, we absolutely want to win the Champions League, and we have not given up on the league yet. We will do everything to conquer both competitions," he concluded.
