A bit belated (the solstice was on the 22nd) but thought I would mark the festive season with a 'post' at least. Today being special to the Christians (of which I am not one) we decided to celebrate in the best way we know how, in our own 'church of oceanic consciousness' with an early morning surf. It was heaven alright, scooting along the small clean face on my 8' 4". Not many out (family duties) and a light wind.
The top photo is Lights Beach, our new place for taking the poodles, sometimes also our 'end of the working week' celebratory beer-drinking site (we have a couple, of sites that is).
This pic is of Ocean Beach with no swell, at sunrise (I know it looks like sunset, but it faces east) This is how early you have to get up to beat the crowds but it is worth it to get some waves to yourself, or at least an uncrowded face.
Hope you are all enjoying whatever it is you do on this day. Peace, love and all that jazz.
