SAVINGS ON AUTO INSURANCE
Are you in the market for a new or used car? Before you jump into the driver's seat you'll want to check with your insurance company on how that sporty little number is going to affect your premium rates and coverage. According to the Insurance Information Institute, a nonprofit communications group supported by the insurance industry, premiums are based on make, model, body type, engine size, age of both the vehicle and driver, as well as your credit history and driving record. They're also based, in part, on the car's sticker price, cost of repair, overall safety record and the likelihood of theft.
Many insurers offer discounts for features that reduce the risk of injuries or theft, including daytime running lights and anti-theft devices.
