Kobe Bryant: I Didn't Mean To Offend Anyone

Following an court-side outburst at last night's game against the San Antonio Spurs, Kobe Bryant has issued a remorseful statement to explain his sideline rant.

The L.A. Lakers all-star appeared to hurl a homophobic slur towards referee Bernie Adams, after which he was hit with a technical foul in the third quarter.

Today (April 13), Kobe did his best to calm the commotion, telling press this of his "f**g*t"-worded rampage: ?What I said last night should not be taken literally."

Bryant continued, "My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period," adding, "The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.?

As a result of his actions, the Lakers star has been fined $100,000 by the NBA - though Kobe has said he plans to appeal the reprimand.
