The Wings won their first game at home tonight in overtime, 5-4. They had two-goal leads twice during the game and then went down a goal in the third before Hudler tied it late in the period. (I STILL think Baby Boy redirected that puck, but...) The game started out beautifully and the Wings seemed to lose it a bit as play continued. Then, 23 seconds into overtime, Hossa managed to score. A great goal for him: he won the game, he scored his first as a Red Wing, and it was his 300th career goal. Now maybe he can settle down enough to show exactly why he is being paid $7+ million this year! That being said, he HAS been doing good things on the ice, just hasn't been scoring.
Z and Stuart were both out with injuries--hopefully Z can play on Wednesday, cause he IS missed. Filppula got two assists tonight, so he is putting up some points--wish he could get more goals, though. He had some good chances again tonight, but the puck just can't find the back of the net. Oh, well, too many Wings have the same problem.
Now the team has three days to get it together before they go St Louis to play on Wednesday. They have won every game on the road so far, so hopefully they can continue the streak.
