He will go down in WWE history as one of the most popular and yet controversial wrestlers of all time.
Shawn Michaels, who many of you know as "The Heartbreak Kid," recently retired the wrestling gear to spend more time with his family. In doing so, a legion of fans was left wondering if they would ever see or hear from the grappler again.
Now, Michaels is turning to social media to stay in touch with the countless fans he left around the world.
Michaels recently announced that he has opened accounts on social networking sites Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. He also plans on launching an official Web site down the road.
Michaels unveiled a video message on YouTube verifying his presence online. His Twitter handle is located at twitter.com/ShawnMichaels_,
while his official Web site is http://www.theshawnmichaels.com/
As for Facebook, Michaels does have an account on the social networking site but the exact URL has yet to be unveiled.
In the video message on YouTube,
Michaels said the main reason for his actions is that he wants to stay in touch with the many fans who have supported him over the years and keep them updated on what he's doing.
His other reason for the Internet presence is because there are way too many fakes online claiming to be him or his wife, especialy on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.
Michaels is a four-time world champion: a three-time WWF Champion and a former World Heavyweight Champion. He also captured the 1995 and 1996 Royal Rumbles and was the WWE's first Grand Slam Champion.
Whether online or when he was in the ring, there truly is One and only Shawn Michaels.
