Current NFL quarterback Matt Cassel had a whirlwind last season, a year ago he was backup quarterback and toiling in anonymity behind Tom Brady. Now, he is the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs making a grand total of 63 million dollars with 28 million of it guaranteed.
Cassel signed a six year deal with the Chiefs after leading the New England Patriots to an 11-5 record last year without starting a collegiate football game. Cassel will now be the face of the rebuilding Kansas City Chiefs.
I wonder if he is going to give current teammate Bernard Pollard a fruit basket for injuring Brady last year. It is weird in the NFL where one injury defines your career (i.e. Trent Green) and one injury helps you create one (i.e. Kurt Warner)
All Cassel has to say now is that he is "so paid."
