Breaking News: Ben Roethlisberger Suspended 4-6 Weeks For Start of 2010 NFL Season

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger found out his fate today in regards to his suspension for the beginning of the 2010 NFL season.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Roethlisberger for the first four to six weeks of the season which can be shortened to the four games if Roethlisberger completes a treatment process which includes clinical evaluations.

The suspension was warranted after Roethlisberger had violated the NFL's personal conduct policy based on allegations that he sexually-assaulted a college student in a night-club in Milledgeville, Georgia. This has been Roethlisberger's second alleged sexual assault which dates back to 2008 after he allegedly assaulted a women in a Lake Tahoe hotel in 2007 after she filed a civil lawsuit against him.

There has been numerous rumors that the Steelers are shopping Roethlisberger for a top-10 pick in Thursday's NFL Draft but at this point, there is no confirmation that a deal has be completed. Although, the Steelers have acknowledged that they have been receiving trade calls about Ben Roethlisberger.

The Steelers back-up quarterbacks include recently-acquired Byron Leftwich, Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon making the possibility that Roethlisberger could be moved for the right price.

Roethlisberger is currently in Pittsburgh and has not publicly commented regarding the suspension.
