All NBA free agent and recent draftee signings (and economic crises) aside, the marketing world must go on. And, okay, recent Minnesota Timberwolves draftee Ricky Rubio gets in on the fun in this commercial for Gillette. He appears, briefly, in the midst of inspirational, cleanly shaven icons like Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and Derek Jeter. I guess he's supposed to be the neophyte, first shave guy in the spot. This is Ruby Tuesday's (can I coin that nickname for the Spaniard?) first stateside promotional gig. An auspicious start, and perhaps a good sign that Rubio won't go the scruffy road of fellow Spaniards Pau Gasol and Rudy Fernandez.
