Jay Cutler is mad, He should be

Jay Cutler is the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos and lead them only one game short of the playoffs last year. He had his best year as a professional quarterback throwing for 25 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. The new head coach is Josh McDaniels wanted his old quarterback from New England in Matt Cassell. They tried to complete a deal for him which eventually fell apart.

Jay Cutler right now is still the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos and he is a little bit peeved that he was being shopped around. While most of the media world is saying that Cutler should not have a right to complain since a new regime is now in Denver, I believe that there should be a legit point for him to feel this way.

I am a little sick of the media who are quick to say that no job is safe in the NFL but Cutler has the right to be mad at the Broncos. Not only was he not informed of the deal but he had to hear it second hand from the media. Sure, Cutler should be used to having people nip at his heels since he is a quarterback but there seems to be some disconnect in the NFL world and the real world.

Just imagine; if your job was on the line and your employer decided to shop you around to another location. I am sick of listening to columnists like ESPN’s Gene Wojciechowski tell people that Cutler is a baby and that he should not be pouting since Simeon Rice did not pout. There is a difference Gene, Rice is All-Pro who has 14 years in the league. This is Cutler’s third year (going on 4th) in the NFL, cut him some slack. How did you act when your 25 and something like this happen? I have a feeling you would have had the same reaction.

I will give Cutler the benefit of the doubt for now much like a spurned cheerleader who does not have a date for prom. However, hopefully he can reconcile with McDaniels and the Broncos will be back fighting for the AFC West title.

For some reason though I think this will pass, why? When your 25 and football is your life, I have a feeling you will be back working.
