Recently, I rewatched "Major League 2," the sequel to the classic baseball movie "Major League." The classic baseball movie which features a fictionalized version of the Cleveland Indians where a rag-tag group of players finds success in adverse conditions.
One of my personal favorite characters from this franchise of movies is Willie Mays Hayes and in the first version he was played by actor Wesley Snipes. However Snipes for some reason decided not to reprise his role in the second one.
Who played the role? None other than Omar Epps who is currently Foreman on the TV series House, M.D. He is also the guy who sorta looks like Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. I wonder what Thirteen has to say about that?
Another fun fact is Dennis Haysburt who plays slugger Pedro Cerrano in the movie is currently starring on the CBS show NCIS. Haysburt is also remembered as David Palmer, the first black president of the United States on the Fox show 24 and known for his commercials for Allstate Insurance.
In the end, we should learn to "Hit like Mays, Run like Hayes"
What? Omar Epps was Willie "Mays" Hayes, Once
