The New Orleans Saints cut David Patten today. The WR, who was an instrumental part of the 2007 Saints and several New England Patriot Super Bowls, had fallen out of favor due to an injury last year and the emergence of fellow Saint WR Lance Moore. I'm sure teams like the Bears and Titans may have a little interest in Patten, but at this point in his career there probably isn't a whole lot left in the tank. But his 8 yard catch in Super Bowl 36 to give the Patriots a 14-3 lead will forever live in Patriots lore. So at least he's got that going for him.
Also, the Washington Redskins waived Punter Ryan Plackemeier today. This leaves Zac Atterberry as the only Punter on the Redskins currently. Atterberry's resume includes that he was cut by the Chicago Bears before joining Washington and that he was born about a month before me in 1986. Plackemeier's resume includes that he's really boring (and apparently loves hot sauce on eggs).
