Marty Booker may be a beast. But he's no longer a Bear.
Cut today with LBs Gilbert Gardner and Marcus Riley, Booker's cut is not a total surprise given his battles with injuries last year. But at third on the Bears all time reception list and sixth on their all time yardage list, it's sad to see him go. I'm sure he'll get picked back up, the only question is by whom. I could see him as a third or even weak second WR type on a whole bunch of teams.
Additionally, Dan Morgan came out of retirement today. He's going to try to come back with the Saints. He's an animal in the Zack Thomas mold, but like Thomas has had a whole ton of concussions, and so you have to wonder how much longer he can keep this up. But maybe the year off bought him some time.
Lastly, everyone is signing everyone elses' cuts so far. Redskins cut P Ryan Plackemeier...Bengals sign him. Broncos cut RB Anthony Alridge...Redskins sign him. Dolphins cut Matt McChesney...Broncos sign him. Gotta wonder how long this will keep up.
