Former Yankees slugger Babe Ruth has been called many things from a great homerun hitter to a great pitcher and even a man that could drink you under the table. However, I like to remember the Babe as a womanizer and this is the chief footage of a short film he did called, “Fancy Curves”
In the film, Ruth tries to teach a group of young ladies how to play baseball and well they succeed after the Ruth dons a wig and hit a game-winning grand slam for them.
Ruth was ahead of his time at teaching the ladies of how to the swing the bat, make plays on batted balls, and score the winning run. (Yes, I know the sexual innuendo and metaphors are endless with this one.) However, it is nice to see the Babe in his element and not the mythic figure that some individuals point him out as.
Now, excuse me, I have to pitch “Fancy Curves” to Alex Rodriguez.
