The Washington Nationals are rubbing off on their grounds crew

The microcosm of the Washington Nationals season has been pretty much terrible; they have been pretty bad ever since moving from Montreal. Now, the grounds crew is even joining in on the futility.

During their Sunday matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies, rain started to pour in the top of the sixth inning and the grounds were sent out to put the tarp out onto the field.

Well, that was easier said than done on this night. After trying for a full five minutes to get the tarp onto the field, they were eventually assisted by some fans. The Phillies broadcasting team of Tom McCarthy and Gary Matthews were in stitches watching the display.

To think, people thought the Expos were bad.
