Carmelo plays Hero

It appeared that the Dallas Mavericks had game three in their back pocket with a Jason Terry three-point shot to give them a four point lead against the Denver Nuggets with 31 seconds left.

Then things took a strange-turn when Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony scored on a driving dunk and cut the lead down to two. On the next possesion, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki missed a 17-foot jumper with about seven seconds left to give the Nuggets a chance to tie or win the game.

On the next possesion, Dallas had a foul to give and appeared that Antoine Wright tried to foul Carmelo Anthony. However, a foul was not called as Anthony rose up to drain a three point jumper with one second left to play.

Dirk Nowitzki had a chance to win it but missed on a thirty-footer. The real question that people are asking, specifically Dallas fans, why was there not a foul call? After watching the tape from above, Antoine Wright did a pretty crappy job of fouling by only bumping Anthony. Should there have been a foul call? Most likely but I could see why there was no call since it looks in real-time that Anthony bumps into Wright and then takes the shot.

The Nuggets take a commanding 3-0 series lead with the 106-105 victory. Carmelo finished his day with 31 points and his final three could not have come in a more spectacular fashion.
