The Top 5: Thirteen is my lucky number

Usually we ask our magic 8 ball for our Top 5 lists, and then it tells us to “Try Again, Later.” Stupid magic 8 ball.

1) Olivia Wilde: Well as it comes no surprise to me, Olivia Wilde was named Maxim hottest woman in their yearly Hot 100 list.

Wilde who pays “Thirteen” on the Fox show House M.D. has pretty much given us hope that we might have a hot doctor in the ER. Wilde also has a pension for kissing girls from her time on the O.C. and recently on an episode of House. I think most men agree that there is nothing wrong with a chick that plays both sides on the field.

Wilde who was a supporter for Obama during his run to president makes her probably the hottest Obama supporter. (Actually, I thought this over; it’s a tie between her and Rashida Jones.)

Olivia Wilde is actually a stage name and originally her name is Olivia Jane Cockburn. In the end, even if that is on her record, she is our number one for this week. (Suck it, Maxim!)

2) Chuck Daly: RIP 1930-2009

3) Ryan Zimmerman: The Washington Nationals third baseman hit in thirty consecutive games but had his streak end against the San Francisco Giants.

The Nationals record during that time: 11-19.

4) The Houston Rockets Red Blazer: If Aaron Brooks and Kenny Smith can get one, why in the hell can’t I?

5) Dance Party Fridays: In the word of Lady Gaga, Just Dance Bob Herzog.

Stuff that missed the cut: The kid who got pushed over by Big Baby, Going to the Mall, NBATV’s Melanie Collins fascination with coin-slots, The first Citi Field Streaker, Fake Umpires, and Tony Banks knows what Dirk is going through.

Chuck Daly: 1930-2009

There is sad news to report from the NBA as former Detroit Pistons coach Chuck Daly has passed away from pancreatic cancer.

Chuck was the head coach of the Detroit Pistons from 1983-1992 where won back to back titles with the Pistons. Only the 7th coach in NBA history to do so, he also coached the New Jersey Nets and Orlando Magic near the end of his career.

Daly was the head coach of the 1992 Dream Team which won gold at the Barcelona Olympics. Daly is currently the only coach to win an NBA title and a gold medal at the Olympics. Daly was known for installing toughness to his basketball teams and was a master at creating tempo change in the NBA during the last 80's.

He will mostly be known for his "Bad Boy" Pistons teams that forced on defense and out-muscling you every night. On that level, he changed the NBA from a finesse run and gun style to a street-fight of we will beat you up mentally and physically everynight.

During this year's NBA playoffs many coaches wore "CD" pins to honor Chuck for fighting through this disease. Daly passed away Saturday morning with his family by his side.

Daly was a Hall of Fame coach, a gold-medal winner, and help changed the NBA for year's to come. Daly was 79.
