Brett Favre To Appear On Dancing With The Stars?

Now that Brett Favre has finally retired from the National Football Leaguge, he can now worry about the more important things in life.

Mainly, possibly being a cast member on ABC's twelfth season of, "Dancing with the Stars".

We get more from Sentinel Sports Now:

Brett Favre could be serious about retiring from the NFL this time if the latest Favre “buzz” news is true.

Word is spreading fast on the web that Brett Favre is a potential contestant for Season 12 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, set to air March 21. Dancing with the Stars has become a popular launching pad for retired or soon-to-be retired NFL stars seeking careers in the public eye. Chad Ochocinco, Emmitt Smith, Kurt Warner, Jerry Rice and Warren Sapp have all been contestants on the show.

There’s no official confirmation yet from either Favre or ABC’s camps yet.
If this is true, it might be interesting how the show would deal with the sexting scandal if he does become a cast member.

However, if Favre does become a cast member, I'm just waiting for his take on the Viennese Waltz.

The Brett Favre Parody of The Lebron James Nike Commercial

Previously on Outside the Boxscore, we featured the infamous Lebron James Nike Commercial where he asked us about what should he do.

Well, the below video decided to parody that commercial with Brett Favre as the new individual of note:

New York Yankees Turn Brett Favre Into a Dirty Word

With pitchers and catchers scheduled to report in less than a month, free agent Andy Pettitte remains undecided on whether he will pitch another season for the New York Yankees, which has crippled the team’s efforts to round out the starting rotation for 2011.

Prior to succumbing to the Texas Rangers in the American League Championship Series, the Yankees’ top offseason priorities were to lure Cliff Lee to the Bronx and re-sign Pettitte, shortstop Derek Jeter and closer Mariano Rivera.

But plans to hit for the cycle went painfully awry when Cliff Lee signed with the Philadelphia Phillies and the 38-year-old Pettitte balked at returning for a 17th season in the majors, including number 14 with the Yankees.

In the first half of the 2010 season, Pettitte, Major League Baseball’s all-time postseason wins leader (19), went 11-2 with a 2.70 ERA to earn the third All-Star selection of his career.

However, a groin injury limited Pettitte to only four starts after the All-Star break, where he posted a record of 0-1 with an ERA of 7.47.

Nevertheless, after such a strong overall season (11-3, 3.28 ERA), the Yankees were fully prepared to welcome Pettitte back into the fold this year, to the tune of approximately $12-13 million.

Apparently though, the grizzled left-hander, who’s been with the Yankees for five World Series Championships, seems more inclined to quietly ride off into the sunset than to take the mound to pitch another game in pinstripes.

The quandary for New York is that Pettitte has neither committed to pitching at any point during the upcoming season nor filed his retirement papers with MLB, drawing comparisons from Yankees general manager Brian Cashman to another professional athlete notorious for being a central figure in this type of melodrama.

“Being from Texas and having to be in New York for six months out of the year can be hard because he has kids and he’s missing important time with them,” Cashman said at Tuesday’s Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting.

“He’s opting not to play right now but that might change it might not. I told him don’t ‘Brett Favre’ us. You got to be all in and fully dedicated to play. Do I need him? I need him, but I don’t want him to play if his heart’s not in it.”

"Brett Favre" us.

It does sound like a dirty phrase when context is taken into consideration, doesn’t it?

Arguably, Pettitte is already "Brett Favre-ing" the most valuable franchise in baseball today, a position, no innuendo intended, the Yankees have not found themselves in often, if ever, in their storied history.

Brett Favre Is A Dancing Machine

Although Brett Favre has finally retired (for now), I think I'm pretty sure what his next plan will be. "Dancing with the Stars", Anyone?

This rather awesome video was caught during Friday's Vikings practice and Favre can dance his socks off:

SNL Parodies Brett Favre Wrangler Commercials: "Open Fly Jeans"

It was only a matter of time that Brett Favre's recent issue with cellphone pictures would make it to the premier comedy sketch show, "Saturday Night Live".

Watch Jason Sudekis do his best Brett Favre impression and the rest of the sketch is pretty much self-explanatory:

Nice, New Brett Favre Wrangler Jeans Commercial

Recently the whole Brett Favre took a picture of his tallywacker with a cellphone camera and sent it to former Jets employee Jenn Sterger has made it's rounds to the nth degree.

So it was only fitting that late night host Jimmy Kimmel decided to make fun of it in a brand-new faux commercial making fun of Favre's misdeeds:

Brett Favre Karma's Comes In Flying Football To Groin

With all the publicity surrounding Brett Favre's man-region, we forget that Brett Favre is still an NFL player and.......

Alright I did my best to interlude into this, here is the video of Brett Favre getting hit in the groin with a football during the Vikings Wednesday practice:

People Laughing At Brett Favre's "Little Favre"

Last night, the peeps over at Jimmy Kimmel Live decided to have a little fun of Brett Favre's recent troubles sending sext messages to former New York Jets employee, Jenn Sterger.

At about the 1:14 mark, they sent out Guillermo out on the streets to show people's reaction to "Little Favre":

The Most Important Question In The Tangled Web Of The Brett Favre Saga

In the whole unraveling of the Brett Favre saga, many questions were tangled together since his Vikings lost to the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship game. Despite all the speculations, there is only one important conundrum that will be haunting Favre since he announced his return.

Can Favre be better than last year and bring the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Minnesota?

There’s one important understanding to this question: Favre must do more than last year in order for his second stint in Minnesota to have value. That means there’s only one ending for the Vikings or else bringing him back was pointless: a Super Bowl title.

The first place to look at is comparing last season’s opponents with this season.

When looking back on the 2009 season, the Vikings schedule appears quite lax in obtaining a 12-4 record. The team only faced off against five opponents who went to the playoffs and eleven teams who couldn’t even qualify.

This year, the mountain to climb back into the postseason has a bit higher of an incline. Minnesota will have half of their sixteen games against opponents who participated in the postseason last year. In their first eight weeks alone, they have to face six teams who made the playoffs in 2009.

Here’s a look at each team the superstar from the college of Southern Mississippi will face in 2010:

Week One: New Orleans Saints

New Orleans might be one of the worst passing defenses in the league (26th last season in passing yards allowed), but they were third in the league in interceptions (exactly how they beat Favre on his last pass in the 2009 championship playoff game).

Week Two: Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins was one of the worst defenses in the league, allowing 24.4 points per game last season. Despite that, they do well at pressuring the quarterback (tied for third in the league with sacks at 44) and hitting Favre is one of the most important things a defense can key in on.

Week Three: Detroit Lions

The Lions gave up the most points per game on average by any team in 2009. On top of that, they gave up the most passing yards and got beat by the deep ball the most as well. The other way to look at it though; they can only get better in 2010.

Week Five: New York Jets

His former team from 2008 was the stingiest defense in 2009, allowing the league best 14.8 points per game. They hit, they cover, and they are nasty.

Favre will have a big challenge in this one.

Week Six: Dallas Cowboys

After going up against the best defensive team, the Vikings go one to face the second best defense. The Cowboys only allowed 15.6 ppg and is one of the best at getting to the quarterback (seventh in the league with 42).

Week Seven: Green Bay Packers

Probably the game Favre has circled on his calendar, his former team doesn’t allow many points (18.6 ppg) and was the best last season at picking off the other team’s quarterback (30 interceptions).

Favre has got to be careful to not be his usual trigger-happy self.

Week Eight: New England Patriots

For the fourth straight week, the Vikings face a team that allowed less than 20 points per game last season (New England allowed only 17.8). This is always a smart, veteran team that might be trouble for Favre and his Vikings.

Week Nine: Arizona Cardinals

Favre will go up against the 2009 NFC West Champions this week and has to deal with a team that ranked in the top ten last year in interceptions (seventh with 21) and sacks (sixth with 43).

This won’t be a cake walk for the Vikings to get through.

Week Ten: Chicago Bears

Although not one of the elite defensive or playoff teams that the Vikings will have faced from the earlier weeks, the Bears are still a middle of the pack team in terms of a variety of defensive statistical categories. Favre will still need to play well to get by Chi-town.

Week Eleven: Green Bay

*See Week Seven*

Week Twelve: Washington Redskins

The Redskins are another team comparable to the Bears that the Vikings cannot sleep on. Washington is good at giving up little in the passing game (tied for eighth with 207.2 passing yards per game) and can hit the quarterback hard (tied for eighth with 40 sacks in 2009).

Week Thirteen: Buffalo Bills

The Bills are a rebuilding team in 2010, but they can play a little bit of defense as well. They were ranked sixteenth in points allowed on average last season (20.4), but this is a team that can change momentum with interceptions (second in the league with 28 in 2009).

Week Fourteen: New York Giants

The Giants may not have been a playoff team last year, but this was the same injury riddled team in 2009 who upset the Patriots in the 2007 Super Bowl and made the playoffs in 2008. They will be back at full strength this season and that might be trouble for Favre.

Week Fifteen: Chicago Bears

*See Week Ten*

Week Sixteen: Philadelphia Eagles

Another playoff team last year that the Vikings will face, the Eagles are always dangerous with the ability to make defensive plays and inflicting pain on the quarterback. They ranked fourth in the league with 25 interceptions and was tied for third in the league in sacks with 44.

Week Seventeen: Detroit Lions

*See Week Three*

Despite the hard road ahead, Favre is one of the greatest players of all time when it comes to rising to the occasion. Minnesota fans are breathing a sigh of relief knowing he will be back to lead the way.

Now, all Vikings fans can do is chant: “I think Favre can…I think Favre can”.

Run For Your Lives, It's the Brett Favre Musical!

For those of you that can't stand Brett Favre-related news, then you should just shy away from the below video altogether.

Hyundai's Super Bowl Ad featuring Brett Favre from the Future

The above video is the commercial that Hyundai will be running during the Super Bowl and just when you thought you could get away from Brett Favre, you can't.

Man, MVP in 2020. I thought we were all supposed to be dead by 2012 but I guess the Mayans can't be right on everything.

Only if they knew that John Cusack would make a crappy movie about it.

Two Angry NFL Fans, "Curse You, Brett Favre!"

There were probably many NFL fans who were screaming at the television when Brett Favre decided to throw that interception to Saints cornerback Tracy Porter in the NFC Championship game.

However, these were two that were caught on tape to be used for the glory for YouTube and to spread to the interweb.

The first video is NSFW.

History Repeats Itself, Play Brett Favre Off Keyboard Cat

Just when you thought that the Minnesota Vikings were on their way to Super Bowl 44, Brett Favre decided to pull a Brett Favre.

The interception by Tracy Porter (who actually grew in up in Port Allen, Louisiana. Great central casting, huh?) made the big play and sent the game into overtime as the Saints will be heading to Miami for the Super Bowl 44.

Huh, this seems familiar doesn't it? I think this happened before.

Brett Favre Wants Your "Pants on the Ground"

The one thing that we know for sure is that General Larry Platt's "Pants on the Ground" is sweeping the nation.

It has even gotten to the point where Brett Favre is celebrating a win against the Dallas Cowboys with this trademark song.

God Bless, General Larry Platt.

A Quad of Brett Favre "Starter" Commercials

Usually if there is something starring Brett Favre, it will probably be posted on this site.

In this four-pack of commercials from "Starter", Brett Favre and a Minnesota family are neighbors.

Yep, it's like Brett Favre is Wally Cleaver.

Last Christmas with Brett Favre

One thing that you can say about Green Bay Packers fans is that they are at least creative.

In this music video using WHAM! hit song, "Last Christmas," one Packers fan decides to do some dancing and show some emotion about losing Brett Favre.

If I was Aaron Rodgers, I would be scared.

Gunslinger Jeans, They make you play like Brett Favre

I'm pretty sure that most of you are completely Brett Favre'd out from the Vikings Monday night win. However, ESPN's Sportsnation decided to dedicate the entire day to mister Favre and break a Guinness world record for the most times Brett Favre was said during an hour show. (For those of you wanted to know, it was 200 times.)

One of the skits was a parody of Brett Favre's Wrangler jeans commercials (seen below) called "Gunslinger Jeans" where Sportsnation host Michelle Beadle showed us that anyone can play like Brett Favre.

Well, at least, get sacked like Favre.

Even words of Brett Favre's daring do's hit China

For those of you who do not know, I am currently in the heart of the dragon (AKA Hong Kong) and arrived only minutes ago.

As I was glancing through the local English news telecast by Pearl TV, this highlight came up of Brett Favre throwing a game-winning touchdown pass to Greg Lewis to beat the 49ers by the score of 27-24. Not only was this the first highlight, they were even kind enough to show it twice.

The throw itself is dare I say impressive and it appears that Brett Favre arm still has that magic left in it. We tend to complain about Favre's omnipresence in the media especially on ESPN but for once I am happy to see him, even if the pass itself happened more than 8,000 miles away.

UPDATE: Here is the entirety of the drive for those who missed it or who did not see it live.

How Brett Favre makes decisions

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has been known to have issues in decision-making specifically dealing with his retirement and pension for throwing interceptions.

Well, the peeps over at Global Sports Fraternity have finally figured out why Favre has issues with decision making.

Sometimes the angel on your shoulder just comes up with better reasons.

Brett Favre’s first practice with the Vikings…sorta

After Brett Favre’s first full preseason game for the Minnesota Vikings, I think it is a good time to reflect on Brett Favre’s first practice with the team.

The guys over at Landline.tv present us with this video of Brett Favre’s first practice with the Minnesota Vikings. Let’s just say that Favre was a little rusty and unsure about his abilities.

Also, I did not know that Brett Favre had “ginger pigment replacement surgery." Cartman would be so super-pissed at that.
