The Florida High School Football Version of "The Miracle at The Meadowlands"

If your name is Garrett Etheridge of Winter Springs high school, you should probably scroll down to another post on this fine blog but if not feel free to watch one of the strangest endings to a high school football game.

During the 5A-3 division tiebreaker in Florida, Winter Springs faced off against Oviedo, the game tied and all Winter Springs senior quarterback Garrett Etheridge had to do was kneel down to send the game to overtime.

Etheridge didn't do that and brought shades of the Miracle of the Meadowlands to Florida:

High School QB Throws Screen Pass and Scores The Touchdown Himself

One thing that I do know about high school football is that the odds of a quarterback throwing a screen pass to himself is pretty slim.

Well, Joe Sobucki of the Girard Yellow Jackets in Pennslyvania pulled off that feat with a little help from wide receiver Anthony Stewart:

Watch Out For That Goal Post!

For some reason, high school football players running into stuff never seems to get old on the interweb and blogosphere.

This clip comes to us from a game between Madison and Yorktown in Virginia. Madison's Andy McGuire went back to receive a kick-off and didn't take into account the goal posts behind him:
