Conan O'Brien + Mine That Bird + NFL Highlights = 4.8 Million Dollars

For those you that don't know, Conan O'Brien is on his last legs on the Tonight Show and on his second to last episode, he decided to cost NBC some more money before he leaves.

For the last episode it was the "Bugatti Veyron Mouse". For this episode, Conan decided to get the 2009 Kentucky Derby Winner, "Mine That Bird" in a mink Snuggie watching restricted NFL highlights.

UPDATE: Allegedly, there are rumors around the interweb that the horse is not "Mine That Bird" but an imposter.

Also with a keen eye, those are probably not NFL highlights. However, they look alot like USFL highlights.

UPDATE Part 2: AOL Fanhouse has confirmed that the video being shown is USFL highlights of the 1984 Championship game between the Tampa Bay Bandits and the Houston Gamblers.

No word, if it really is "Mine that Bird" though.

The Bird is the Word- Mine That Bird wins the 135th Kentucky Derby

Usually in the world of sports, we throw around the term "upset" alot. However in the 135th Kentucky Derby, the word upset is pretty fitting as 50 to 1 shot, "Mine That Bird" took home the Derby crown.

The story itself is pretty amazing to begin with as trainer Bennie Woolley Jr. had to drive the horse almost about 21 hours from New Mexico to Kentucky. Woolley also made the trip with a broken foot which makes this story even more astounding.

The Jockey however, Calvin Borel was not new to this upset since he was jockey who rode Street Sense, the winner of 2006 Kentucky Derby. Borel was exciting after taking the yearling from almost dead last to winning. (Ironically, this race situation was very similar to Street Sense's victory back in 2006.)

The owner of Mine That Bird is the Double Eagle Farm of Mark Allen and the Buena Suerte Equine operation of Dr. Leonard Blach, a veterinarian. They earned $1,417,200 from a gross purse of $2,177,200.

Well, we all know that the bird is the word for at least this year's Kentucky Derby winner.
