Glad to see it was only Frazen's face that was injured in the game... Would not be good to lose him with Zetterburg out as well for who knows how long. Still a good game for the Wings even though they let em get back into it a bit... Refs didn't help, but they never do.
Well the crowd was certainly ready, but the Red Wings came out a bit slow in the 1st, but turned things around and they took game 1 4-2... Here are the highlights...

Jiri Hudler gets his second goal of the playoffs assisted by Nicolas Kronwall and Brad Stuart. Another deflection off the Blue Jackets, it deflected off a player then hit the post and then must have bounced off Steve Mason about 3-4 times .
Osgood with his 14th shutout, the fans were showing their appreciation by chanting his name and cheering him on his victory.

It was 0-0 until half way through the second period. Which made me sitting on the edge of my seat! Osgood spectacular the whole game but I have to admit I had my doubts. I thought there was the possibility that Ty Conklin would take over goaltending for Chris Osgood. Making it 1-0 Jiri Hudler scores assisted with the help of a beautiful pass by Valtteri Filppula. Not even 52 seconds later on the Blue Jackets Cal Clutterbuck scored keeping it the same nail biting feeling as it was when there wasn't a score at all. 1-1 Pavel Datsyuk didn't get any points but I thought he did very well this game. With plenty of take aways and killing off penalties early on in the game. Not the greatest calls by the refs in this game, or at least in my opinion they weren't. They help each other out. Good job by both of them and the rest of the Red Wings to win 5-2. I have to admit, I had my doubts before about Osgood? Osgood I cannot forget, has been spectacular in my opinion. He has proven me wrong! Good job!
Turco will be having nightmares for years about Datsyuk, he really does have Turco's number... anyone remember the penalty shot?
A dominant performance by the Red Wings as they smashes the aves, 5 to 1. McCarty also renewed his rivalry by getting into a fight with Cody McCormick!

Game one was fun to watch, but the Red Wings let off a little bit towards the end, and the Avalanche came back, but still lost 4 to 3! Ozzie with a bunch of huge saves including one with just 8 seconds left in the 3rd period..
