With the NFL playoff picture set, it's time for my favorite time of year and that is NFL head coaches getting fired. Very swiftly and quickly Eric Magini of the New York Jets, Romeo Crennell of the Cleveland Browns, and Rod Marinelli of the Detroit 0-16's.
Although these firings shouldn't come as a shock to anybody, its interesting that three head coaches got fired in less than 24 hours. Maybe the NFL was taking its cue from the NBA who has had seven head coaches fired in less than a month.
The one thing in common is that all of these head coaches failed to live up to expectations. The Lions were supposed to make the playoffs, The Browns were supposed to win the AFC North, and well the Jets were supposed to make the Super Bowl.
In today's world it isn't uncommon for someone's expectations to be dashed quickly and that is what the NFL is expectations.
