Most of you have hear by now that Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell has not been invited as a candidate for the Heisman trophy.
Although he has thrown for over 4,700 yards passing with a team that went 11-1 and going to the Cotton Bowl.
Mike Leach Head Coach of Texas Tech is not happy about Harrell not going to New York for the ceremony
"If Graham is not invited to the Heisman, they ought to quit giving out the award. It is a shameless example of politics ruling over performance"
There is really no definitive way to choose how many players will be invited. There has been as many as six finalists invited to the ceremony.
I always thought that it was the Andre Ware effect that a spread offense quarterback will never win a Heisman. (Colt Brennan made it last year but we all knew he wasn't going to win)
I pray for the safety for those Heisman voters and hope that Mike Leach will not "slap them so super hard."
