Handicapping the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game

Ah, NBA All Star Weekend. There are only words to describe it and most of them I cannot think of them at the current moment.

Specifically, my favorite part of All-Star Weekend is the NBA Celebrity game and this year there is no shortage of players.

Here are the current list of attendees:
Clyde Drexler (NBA legend)
Dominique Wilkins (NBA legend)
Chris Tucker (Actor/comedian)
James Denton (Desperate Housewives)
Donald Faison (Scrubs)
Terrell Owens (Dallas Cowboys receiver)
Zach Levi (Chuck)
Michael Rapaport (Prison Break)
Dan Majerle (Phoenix Suns legend)
Rick Fox (L.A. Lakers legend)
Lisa Leslie (L.A. Sparks)
Kara Lawson (Sacramento Monarchs)
"Wildkat" Edgerson (Harlem Globetrotters)
"Special K" Daley (Harlem Globetrotters)
"Scooter" Christensen (Harlem Globetrotters)
"Handles" Franklin (Harlem Globetrotters)

In the past, this was side-show to watch crappy celebrities who couldn't shoot, pass, or score. However with the Harlem Globetrotters, NBA Legends, and TO; this might be one of the more entertaining games.

I have some sinking feeling that Donald Faison from Scrubs possibly could get the MVP as he has been a solid contributor for every game that he has played. (However, Thunder Dan probably has this one locked up)

The over/under for points in the game is usually 65 points. However due to the lack of celebrities, this year expect the game to be in the 90-100 range.

Here are my top 5 prop bets:

1) Will James Denton score in the game?

2) After one quarter, will there be more shots taken than points?

3) Will anyone outside of Terrell Owens, dunk?

4) Will there be a trade during the game?

5) Will an athlete take the last shot in the game?

Nothing better than betting on retired athletes and celebrities.
