Although the Detroit Lions are 0-13, they aren't the only team feeling the effects from a winless season. The Washington Huskies finished 0-12 over the weekend with a loss to the California Golden Bears, 48 to 10. They become the only team in Pac-10 to be winless which hasn't happened since 1980 with the Oregon State Beavers.
The one staggering stat is California running-back Jahvid Best had over 300 yard rushing compared to Washington's total offense output of only 200 yards. It then begs to ask the question, which winless season will be more impressive.
The Washington Huskies finished their season with only 19 total touchdowns on offense. To make a point of this national title hopefulls the Florida Gators scored 18 touchdowns in last three games. Defensively, they allowed at opponents to score at least 27 points (exception being Washington State) in their losses.
If we compare this team to the Detroit Lions, the Lions offense has 21 touchdowns over twelve games (not including their last game against the Vikings) and their defense is only allowing 31.8 points per game. This is in comparison to the Huskies who allowed a staggering 40.8ppg.
Sure, both teams are horrendous and putrid but you have to put the Washington Huskies on par with the Detroit Lions. They both have terrible numbers and well didn't play against great competition.
If the Lions do go winless, it will be an impressive feat but don't forget that another team already did go winless.
What's Worse, 0-12 or 0-16?
