FC Twente Goalie Sander Boschker Own Goal EPIC FAIL

When you thought that you had a bad day, try being goalkeeper Sander Boschker of FC Twente who might have had one of the most embarrassing own goals happen to him.

It occurred during a UEFA game against Tottenham and Boschker took an astounding swing and miss from a pass from a teammate:

Khalfan Fahad's EPIC Missed Goal in Asian Games

This video has been making the rounds on other websites as of late and I figured that it must be seen here.

During the 2010 Asian Games quarterfinal match between Qatar and Uzbekistan, Qatar's Khalfan Fahad appeared to have an uncontested net to score on.

The key word in that statement is "appeared":

Nice Trick Play, Driscoll Middle School Football

After seeing numerous football trick plays during my time as a blogger, the below video might be one of the most impressive ones that I have seen.

Driscoll Middle School from Corpus Christi, Texas pull it off in grand fashion:

The CFL's Leon Lett: Ronald Flemons Butterfingers Cost Him A Touchdown

Usually here at Outside the Boxscore, we love to check in with our neighbors to the north and feature a clip from the Canadian Football League.

During last week's Toronto Argonauts/B.C. Lions affair, B.C. quarterback Casey Printers was hit and fumbled the ball which ended up in the hands of Toronto defensive end, Ronald Flemons.

Flemons has what appears to be a clear path to the endzone with no one in sight, what could possibly go wrong?

Stay Clutch, San Jose Sharks

It has been well-documented that the NHL's San Jose Sharks have had great regular seasons only to come up short in the playoffs.

So, when they finished as the overall #1 seed and faced #8 seed Colorado Avalanche, you knew something was bound to go wrong.

With the series tied at 1-1 in game three, San Jose's Dan Boyle was clearing the puck out to his goalie, Evegeni Nabakov. Then only something that could happen to the San Jose Sharks gave Colorado the 2-1 series lead.

EPIC FAIL - Yankees Ballboy Tosses Away Jorge Posada's 1,500th Hit Ball

One thing that I do know about professional athletes is that they love keeping mementos/memorabilia related to their playing career.

So, when Yankees catcher Jorge Posada collected his 1,500th career hit, you'd assume that someone would make sure that the ball would be placed in a safe place for Posada to collect it later.

Well, the Yankee ball boy who retrieved the ball didn't receive that message as he tossed the ball into a bucket which appears to contain a bunch of other baseballs.

The best reaction is from Yankees announcer Michael Kay who flips out when it happens.

Nevada Wolfpack Mascot FAIL, Falls Off Minor League Baseball Dug-Out

Personally, my heart goes out to the men and women who are mascots. They essentially play a thankless role in the sporting society where they are loved by kids and parents but ultimately depised by most.

Recently, the Nevada Wolfpack collegiate baseball team were playing an exhibition match vs. the local AAA affiliate for the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Reno Aces.

During a break in the action, the Aces mascot, "Archie" and the Wolfpacks mascot, "Wolfie" decided to dance on top of the dug-out to entertain fans. The only problem for Wolfie is that he misjudged his moonwalk and fell into the dug-out below.

Confused Soccer Reporter EPIC FAIL

The one thing that I do know about sports sideline reporters is that they have to be constantly following the action and keeping themselves up to date on the latest information about the game they are covering.

Well, sideline reporter Chris Kamara was covering the Portsmouth/Blackburn match for Sky Sports Soccer Saturday when a red card was given out.

Soccer Saturday host Jeff Sterling threw it to Chris Kamara teasing that fact that someone received the red card.

The only problem, Chris had no idea who received it.

Patrick Eaves EPIC Shoot-Out FAIL

Although this clip is about a week old, it's still something worth watching to say the least.

The Detroit Red Wings were taking on the Nashville Predators last Saturday and the game went into a shoot-out.

Detroit right-winger Patrick Eaves was trying to score the go-ahead goal in the overtime period but had an issue with a little thing called gravity.

Dee Dee Jernigan's EPIC FAIL leads to Stanford's Final Four Trip

In the world of sports, some players are remembered for one mistake that ends up costing their team a victory. Sometimes a player's career is defined by that one mistake for better or worse.

It's almost like a special fraternity that no one wants to join.

Xavier's Dee Dee Jernigan is the latest member of that fraternity as she blew two easy lay-ups in the final seconds of Xavier's Elite Eight Match up against Stanford which ultimately cost Xavier a shot to make it to the NCAA Women's Division One Final Four.

"She's got to be the sickest woman in America!"

High School Hockey Introduction FAIL

Just picture this moment for a second, your a high school kid in Minnesota and your playing in the Minnesota Boys State High School Hockey Tournament.

It's the day of the game and your being introduced at the Xcel Energy Center in front of thousands of fans and a viewing television audience. They call your name and you proceed to your spot on the ice.

Then you wipeout right in front of the television camera...

NBC Blunders - Actor Michael J Fox Confused with Canadian Runner Terry Fox

During the Today's Show coverage of the Winter Olympics, Matt Lauer asked the question to the cast about who they thought might light the torch in Vancouver.

Co-host Meredith Viera answered the mother of deceased Canadian Terry Fox, a one-legged runner who ran across Canada in hope of raising money for cancer.

The only issue was someone in the production truck confused Terry Fox with actor Michael J Fox.

2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Torch Lighting FAIL

For those of you who decided to miss the end of the opening of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada; here is the classic video of the indoor torch lighting ceremony that didn't go according to plan.

The original plan was to have the four Canadian sports legends (Wayne Gretzky, Steve Nash, Nancy Greene, and Catriona LeMay Doan) each light a specific section of the "torch structure" in unision which would then light the middle cauldron.

The only problem was that one of the sections that was supposed to rise from the ground, didn't rise at all.

Then everything got akward for a few minutes....

If picture are worth a thousand words, Steve Nash and Wayne Gretzky reactions could write novels.

NBC = Where Not Broadcasting Goals Happens

Everyone has been piling on NBC of late regarding the whole Conan O'Brien/Jay Leno fiasco but should be more outraged by this instance during the Red Wings-Blackhawks affair over the weekend.

Side Ice Reporter Pierre McGuire was gushing over the goal-tending of Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Antii Nemi. Then while showing a highlight package, NBC was late to the gun to see Nemi get beat for a goal by Patrick Eaves off of a face-off.
