Mike Vick cut by Falcons

After the Atlanta Falcons tried to trade him, the Michael Vick Saga with the Atlanta Falcons has finally ended with his release from the team.

General Manager Thomas Dimitroff was quoted in an article regarding the Vick release, "Michael remains suspended by the NFL," Dimitroff said. "However, in the event NFL commissioner Roger Goodell decides to reinstate Michael, we feel his best opportunity to re-engage his football career would be at another club."

Currently, Vick is still being suspended by the NFL and when his suspension ends or when he is re-instated by NFL comissioner Roger Goodell, any NFL team can sign him as a free agent if they so choose. The real question is who will? Albeit, Vick is still a commodity in the NFL based on pure speed and knowledge of the quarterback position. However, dealing with an ex-con who was a dog-fighter might scare most NFL teams away.

The NFL had no comment on the Falcons release of Vick. We can finally close the chapter of Michael Vick in the ATL.
